
The Huntington School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Rochelle C. Brown as the new principal of Huntington High School. Brown will succeed Brenden Cusack, who was recently appointed assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.
Brown brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as an assistant principal at Uniondale High School for the past three years. Prior to that, she held the same position at Roosevelt High School. Brown’s career began as a science teacher in Queens.
Superintendent Beth M. McCoy expressed her enthusiasm for Brown’s appointment, stating, “We are looking forward to Ms. Brown joining our administrative team. She brings a wealth of experience as a high school assistant principal and instructional leader. Her strengths include data analysis, professional development and collaborating with colleagues and faculty to ensure that all students succeed.”

Additional Information

Brown earned her bachelor’s degrees in biology and Spanish from the City College of New York and her master’s degree in education from Pace University. She also holds an administrative certification from The College of St. Rose.
Throughout her career, Brown has held various administrative positions, including attendance teacher, dean of safety and student culture, and lead science teacher. She has taught science at the 6-8 grade level, including Living Environment and Earth Science Regents, as well as honors science.
In addition to her administrative experience, Brown is fluent in Spanish and has a strong background in technology. She has managed school websites and social media pages and has served as a testing coordinator for Regents, state field tests, and the PSAT.
Brown is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the School Administrators Association of New York.
