Sing Out: A Celebration of Harmony and Black History Month in Huntington
February 9
As February unfolds, Huntington Village will come alive with the spirit of unity and celebration during Black History Month, thanks to a special event hosted by St. John’s Episcopal Church. On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., the historic church at 12 Prospect Street will open its doors to the community for a free concert titled Sing Out: A Tour for Harmony.
This afternoon will feature internationally acclaimed vocalist Brenda Marie Turner, whose captivating performances span spirituals, jazz, and operatic works. Known for her ability to connect with audiences across continents, Ms. Turner will bring her dynamic artistry to the stage, accompanied by the equally celebrated pianist Alex Pryrodny. Together, the duo promises a program that transcends genres and boundaries, offering a musical experience both inspiring and uplifting.
In anticipation of the event, Alex Pryrodny shared his thoughts on the performance’s deeper significance: “Sing Out: A Tour for Harmony is a tribute to artistic freedom and a call to embrace music’s boundless possibilities.” This sentiment echoes the mission of St. John’s Episcopal Church, which, now in its 280th anniversary year, remains a steadfast cornerstone of community enrichment and engagement in Huntington.
