The cultural community on Long Island is buzzing with excitement as the Huntington Arts Council gears up to celebrate their 60th Anniversary with the Chapin Awards 2023.
The Chapin Awards 2023 are taking place on Monday, May 22, 2023 (from 6-10 PM) at the John W. Engeman Theater At Northport (250 Main St. Northport, NY 11768).
This is an event you won’t want to miss, as it honors three outstanding community leaders who have shown immense dedication to the arts: KEVIN MCEVOY (Chapin Arts and Humanitarian Award); MAURICE BRANDON CURRY (Chapin Legacy Award); and STEPHANIE GOTARD (Chapin Cultural Connector Award).
The evening will kick off with a VIP cocktail reception at 6:00pm, followed by a general admission audience at 7:00pm. Attendees will be treated to a screening of the documentary, “The Art & Soul of A Man”, produced and directed by artist member Danangelowe “ARTBOii” Spencer. This introspective film reflects on the life and art of Ebony Thompson.
Each honoree will be celebrated with a personalized performance, showcasing their unique contributions to the arts and humanities. The celebration will also include live music, auction and raffle items, and plenty of opportunities to mingle with fellow art enthusiasts.
